Ipswich Ripple Food Co-operative - Ipswich
Vegetarian and Vegan wholefood Co-operative Shop
- Completely vegetarian.
- Shop.
A food co-op stands between informal buying groups and shops. Co-ops work on the principle of mutual benefit, not commerical profit. Co-op ventures help to develop safe, vibrant neighbourhoods with a genuine community. Members pay a joining fee (10 pounds or more) which goes towards the cost of the initial order, distributing the lump sum amongst many. Members benefit from next-to wholesale prices, but don't have to order items in bulk, they can purchase as much or as little as they want. Members also have a direct say in the products which are ordered, promoting full participation in the social network economy.
The Co-op rents the Salvation Army Hall at 121 Bramford Road, IP1 2LW. It receives deliveries of goods there and uses the venue for storage, as well as opening up for trade to members every other weekend (next trade is Saturday 22 Sept 2007 from 10am-1pm). Goods available: seeds, nuts, dried fruits, cereals, pulses, eco-friendly cleaning products/toiletries, baking essentials, pet foods, juices, soya milk, chocolate, flours (with fresh fruit and veg on their way too!)
Please bring your own containers so that products can be decanted (ie. bottles, tubs, jars, plastic bags).
Try using communal transport (contact other members in your area to share lifts etc.)
